As can be expected, there is more news to share about The Back-up Plan, for which Alex O’Loughlin has recently started promotional activities. According to Staci Hayes, he and Jennifer “did so many interviews”, therefore we can expect to be kept very busy for the next couple of months!
- The Los Angeles premiere is currently scheduled to take place at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on April 20, 2010. Note that the date is subject to change ;-).
- Check out this picture of Alex with Jennifer and Kevin Frazier, taken on February 9 when they did the ET interview. Thanks to Nadioz for the find!
- The Show Girl video was posted yesterday on AOL TV, where Alex answers a question about Hawaii Five-0 that was submitted by fan Amy V.! Hopefully more snippets will pop up in future videos, as the interview was actually about The Back-up Plan.
- Rotten Tomatoes included The Back-up Plan trailer in a recent video review. You can view it on YouTube – thanks for the heads up, Mariposa!
- If you were ever curious about what your and Alex’s baby would look like, then check out The Back-up Plan‘s latest fun application called Back-up Babies. The app is also available on Facebook and all you need to do is upload a photo of yourself and Alex, and your “back-up” baby will be created. A special “birth announcement” is generated that shows the photos of both “parents” and the baby – which you can send to friends or publish to your Facebook account!

- TV Guide Magazine’s Matt Roush included a comment about Hawaii Five-0 in his Daily Review:
Book Him: That sigh of relief you heard? That’s from Alex O’Loughlin fans, finally getting the word this week that their hero has signed to be the new Steve McGarrett in CBS’s long-in-development remake of Hawaii Five-O. (Daniel Dae Kim will stick around in Hawaii after Lost wraps to play Chin Ho.) Third time should be the charm for O’Loughlin. I’m not a big fan of remakes, but this one makes sense if done right. CBS, Hawaii and crime dramas go well together, and it’s hard to see how they screw up this pilot with this star in the front seat.
- Brian White tweeted a message for Alex on Thursday:
Congrats to my homie, Alex O’Laughlin on the new “Hawaii 5-0″ series @ CBS! Do we have happy Moonlight fans? :-)
- Alex can expect to receive an invitation from the Chris Klug Foundation to this year’s Summit for Life event taking place in December in Aspen, Colorado. Thanks to Sabine for the heads up!
- The gallery has been updated with more private photos of fans meeting Alex. A huge thanks to the lucky ladies who kindly donated their pictures!

Thanks Mizz! I have seen a few of the interviews and found their chemistry is great and obviously they enjoy working together. Unlike Goth, I’m not that adventurous to see what a baby with Alex looks like LOL! But the concept as a market tool for the movie is unique. I am so happy for Alex that he has a great movie and a dynamite new series. He so deserves all the success coming his way!
Thanks mizzoH, I am looking forward to lots of interviews, and maybe meeting Alex on the Back-Up Plan premiere in Los Angeles!! Fingers crossed!
Thanks, MizzoH!!! And thanks to the fans who have shared their pictures with us. There are several I had never seen, and they are beautiful!!
Claudia
Thank you MizzoH for your thorough and excellent weekly wrap up. I love reading it weekly.
Okay, I had to go do the “Back Up Babies” app. I used a pic of myself in my 30s (hey, I cheated, so what) and Alex, of course. The baby is adorable!! That’s cause he has all of Alex’ traits. Anyway, it was a lot of fun. Weird, but fun.
Thanks for the wrap-up, Mizz! Great as usual..
Goth
Thank you!
