It’s been a wild week with most of the activity centered around The Back-Up Plan — in case you hadn’t noticed
The movie wrapped Saturday, July 25th, after almost 11 weeks of filming. Thanks to Jennifer Lopez and the paparazzi, the yield for us Alex O’Loughlin fans is close to spectacular, with over 880 photos with Alex and more than 20 videos with footage from the set and/or interviews.
- Pictures from Alex’s last day of shooting are in The Back-Up Plan gallery. Many hi res ones from the set were kindly provided by LovelyLopez.net – my eternal thanks to Nadioz for being so generous during the course of the filming!
- Cast photos and a couple of Stan and Zoe stills are posted in the production photos album.
- Check out this cute photo of Alex on the set of The Back-Up Plan with the twinswholaugh.
- Alex also made an appearance at “An Evening for Lola”, Jennifer’s surprise 40th birthday bash organized by hubby Marc Anthony at the Edison Ballroom in New York. Pictures are in the events gallery.
- Although they’re done with principal photography for The Back-Up Plan, we won’t have to miss Alex for long, because the summer press tour for the Television Critics Association kicks off this week. It hasn’t been confirmed that Alex will make an appearance, but as the lead of Three Rivers, it’s highly likely that he will. CBS won’t take the stage till August 3-4 though, so we still have a week to go. Three Rivers goes into production later this week (July 29th has been mentioned), so that gives Alex a couple of days to switch gears.
- In case you missed it earlier, Amber Clayton will definitely be joining the Three Rivers cast. She’s from Melbourne and there’s a nice write-up about her in the Melbourne Herald Sun. You’ll find the link in this post here.
- Parade published a Q&A recently with a mention of Moonlight and there’s also a poll:
- Don’t forget to vote for your favorite entry in the Alex O’Loughlin 2009 Birthday Video Contest! The votes had to be reset yesterday and the voting deadline has been extended to August 2nd.
Q Does CBS realize that canceling its vampire series Moonlight with Alex O’Loughlin was a mistake?—Sandy Bleiss, Bartlett, Tenn.
A Yes. Our sources tell us that the outcry was so great that CBS took steps to bring O’Loughlin back into the fold. CBS Films cast him opposite Jennifer Lopez in The Back-Up Plan, and this fall he’ll star as a doctor in a new medical series, Three Rivers. Is there a cancelled TV series you’d like to see revived? Vote for your favorite in our Pop Culture Poll!

Amazing wrap up, MizzoH! So much has happened the last couple of weeks that it’s good that there is something like this wrap up of yours so we at least know what our boy has been up to…
Cute picture of Alex and the twins!
I too hope he has a little time left to write a blog on his MySpace page.
Thanks for this great work, Alex couldn’t have done it better!
Thanks MizzoH for keeping us up to date about all things Alex! What a whirlwind week it has been. Maybe now he will slow down for a minute before Three Rivers and update his MySpace page!
Thank you MizzoH for the weekly wrap up. We Alex O’Loughlin fans have been in awe and so inspired with all the gorgeous photos coming from The Back-Up Plan shoot. It looks like Alex has only a few days to rest before his new work in Three Rivers. I and millions of fans sure hope that Alex will write a blog in MySpace to keep us posted with all his film and television projects. It has been a very busy time for Alex. I’m so glad that Alex is working and keeping busy, which means we all get to see more of him on the big and small screen very soon.
Thanks mizz – I just love your weekly wrap-ups, and like you said, what a week this has been! I love getting all the great pics from you – thanks so much.
They finished filming last Saturday, that means Alex is probably back in Los Angeles and getting ready to start filming 3 Rivers, thanks mizzoH for keeping us posted, it was overwhelming to have so many awesome new pics and now I hope we will get some from the shooting of his new show!
