There is a lot of Three Rivers related information to share from the past week:
- The Luckiest Man will undoubtedly go down in the history books as one of the most memorable episodes of Three Rivers. If you missed it, TV Guide posted a recap and you can also check out the extended promo and a great scene with Mandy Patinkin and Owiso Odera. Jim Trisch, Director of Donation Services at OneLegacy wrote about the medical aspect of this episode on the show’s Expert Blog.
- Also worth checking out is the Three Rivers’ Undercover Blog where there’s an interview with Ildy Modrovich, who penned the previous episode, Where We Lie.
- A gentleman on the wait-list for a liver transplant shares his thoughts about Three Rivers on his blog: Prime Time Shows Organ Transplants.
- The Hollywood Gossip reveal their Top 10 Favorite TV Doctors; Andy Yablonski is #9.
- Alfre Woodard was spotted in Washington, D.C. last Tuesday when she attended a documentary screening organized by The Creative Coalition.
- Michael Beck plays a fireman in episode 10 of Three Rivers: Every Breath You Take and his proud grandmother posted some pictures on her blog! This episode is currently scheduled to air on December 13th.
- The Rain Management Group reports that charismatic Israeli actor Oded Fehr is joining Three Rivers! This is promising because he signed on for a recurring role and the general consensus among the fans is that he is hot and has a great voice — at least two characteristics he has in common with someone else we know and love! We’re speculating that he’ll take on the role of Dr. Luc who is to be introduced in episode 11 (currently being filmed and likely to air on December 20th). If you’re curious to find out more, check out the story line posted by Spoiler TV. It goes without saying that this site posts SPOILERS
. - Earlier this month, Australia’s Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and his family kicked off a national organ and tissue donation awareness program by becoming the first DonateLife Family. In keeping with this development, Australia’s DonateLife site has been updated. Nine-year-old liver transplant recipient Lachlan Wallis from Queensland is the face of the organization. Unfortunately the country has the lowest organ donation rate among developed countries, so it’s a shame that Three Rivers is no longer being aired there.
- Don’t forget that tonight’s episode of Three Rivers kick off an hour later than usual, i.e at 10/9 Central! This is a one-time change in scheduling to see how this will affect the show’s ratings.
Other news and latest gallery additions:
- To get some unpleasant news out of the way first: the US release of The Back-Up Plan has been postponed again and the new date is now April 16, 2010. The change was first noticed on IMDb (thanks to Linda for the heads-up) and TBUP movie site amended the date on Wednesday, so it’s now official. This of course also means that the release in other countries will also be affected. Although Alex could certainly have used the PR boost for Three Rivers, I have no doubt that The Back-Up Plan will still prove to be a pivotal movie for him publicity-wise and hopefully the new date will end up being more favorable for the movie all around. The good news is that the test screening apparently went very well according to two people who attended – thanks to Nadioz for sharing this great morale booster!
- Various media outlets have mentioned that CBS Films has signed a three-year international distribution deal with Sony Pictures. Variety was the first to report the news: CBS Films Hooks up with Sony. Note the mention of The Back-Up Plan being released “next spring” instead of a firm date — that was an excellent clue that had many of us speculating as none of the articles included a release date.
- Some more pictures have been added to The Back-Up Plan gallery from the July 22nd day shoot — many thanks to Blondie, Kelly and Nadioz for sharing these additions!
- One Moonlight item has been added to the gallery: an interview with Alex in the French magazine 100% Séries. Skylar provided the great translation – merci, j’apprécie ton aide!
- Also new to the gallery is a 2006 article from Australia’s TV Week about The Shield.
Thanks to the fans at Long Legs O’Loughlin and Three Rivers Fans for their valuable contributions to this wrap-up. I hope everyone has a great week ahead of them!
