AOLR Weekly Wrap-Up #16

Just a quick wrap-up this week for a change ;-):

  • David Blue, who played the funny, basement bound computer geek Logan in Moonlight, was recently interviewed by IF Magazine and mentioned both Moonlight and Alex:
  • iF: Do you have fans from MOONLIGHT, where you played Logan, the techie vampire?
BLUE: Oh, yeah. Absolutely. And even better, I have good fans from MOONLIGHT, who are saying that they’re going to watch this show. [Erstwhile MOONLIGHT lead] Alex O’Loughlin is a friend of mine, and any time I can read a script, I’m like, “We’ve got to find a role for Alex on this show.” I know he’s busy with his new show, THREE RIVERS, but [MOONLIGHT was] great. If [MOONLIGHT executive producer] Joel Silver and the rest of them get together.

iF: Did they let you keep the vamp teeth?
BLUE: No, I never had to vamp out. In the original series finale, which was the season finale, I believe it was written that Logan vamps out and jumps and does some vampire-type stuff, and all the producers sat around and went, “Nah, he’s too lazy.” So I just run. That’s why I wanted to do that role, was to have the fangs. It never happened. I would love to revisit that so I can do that. And the contacts are really cool, too. I’d like to do that.

  • The Tucson TV Examiner posted a list of 10 TV shows to feed your ‘Twilight’ craving before the ‘New Moon’ premiere and has Moonlight at #1 with a worthy write-up — I think the author is a fan!
  • Here’s a neat service provided by CBS: you can receive an email or text message with the start time of the Sunday shows –  this comes in handy when they are delayed by sports runovers: http://www.cbs.com/eye-lerts/.
  • According to a Throng blog post, New Zealand’s TV3 will be airing Three Rivers in 2010.
  • Film Journal International recently published an extensive interview with Amy Baer, CEO of CBS Films. The entire article is certainly worth a read, but here’s the paragraph about The Back-Up Plan:

Next up, in spring, is The Back-up Plan, starring Jennifer Lopez opposite rising star Alex O’Loughlin (of the new CBS medical drama “Three Rivers”). The romantic comedy returns Baer to a genre in which she’s seen great success in the past—she worked on My Best Friend’s Wedding, The Wedding Planner (with Lopez), and Something’s Gotta Give while at Sony. “The Back-up Plan is a really funny and romantic story, but it also has a very relatable dilemma for women today—which is, when you’re accomplished and successful but you haven’t met the right guy and you still want a family, what do you do? There’s also a bit of wish fulfillment—right when she decides that she’s going to go it alone and be artificially inseminated, she meets the man of her dreams. The script is laugh-out-loud funny.”

  • Here’s another article, now from the LA Times, about how the House Ear Institute (that specializes in research in ear and auditory diseases) is generating extra revenue by making its new wing available to Three Rivers for location shoots: House Ear Institute Welcomes Three Rivers TV Drama.
  • The latest additions to the Three Rivers gallery: HQ stills for episode 1.06 Where We Lie and MQ stills for 1.07 The Luckiest Man. Many thanks to Nadioz for the HQs!
  • And to close with a few polls by Spoiler TV:

I wish everyone a wonderful week ahead!

Code Green started on time this week. I am grateful to CBS for providing alerts for those of us in the EST. Now if they could only stop blocking their promos and videos for the loyal Canadian fans to see I and many others would be very grateful!
Thank mizzoH and you have a great week too!
