Enjoy this video with clips of Alex O’Loughlin from a behind the scenes look at Whiteout! For the fans who may have a little trouble understanding him, I’ve added a transcript.
This is a part of our planet that theoretically, you shouldn’t be able to live there at all.
My first scene on the film was a scene where I’m basically naked and I run out across the ice so it was quite a way to get to know a film set. It was kind of an ice breaker, if you’ll excuse the pun.
I remember when I first walked onto the set here in Montreal and it’s like: Wow, they’ve really done it!
It’s freezing in here! No, no it’s terrific, I mean it’s Antarctica without the minus fifty.
I mean, we’re constantly clipping harnesses and jumping over and tackling each other, and cutting ropes, and flying off into the debris.
I was a bit worried about this snow, because it ends up in every orifice, you know and it’s in your mouth and up your nose and it’s actually just starch and salt. So it sort of feels like you’ve been rolling in pizza dough all night, when you get home you pull it all out of your nose.
Large caps have also been added to the gallery!

Thank you mizzoH for posting this video and the transcript :-)
This was very thoughtful, Mizz, since some of us don’t have the Blue Ray version; thank you. I got my plain film DVD copy in the mail from Amazon last night, and I am looking forward to zooming in on the action, as it were.
And I’ll probably actually watch the film too.

Thank you Mizz… love it.. just love it.. You know how I love looking and listening to Alex and his Aussie.. especially during the wee night hours at work!!
Damn, I just saw this post and I had to watch like 10 times (not complaining) to be able to understand everything Alex said, I love his accent but it is hard for me to get all the words, like “every orifice” I didn’t figure that one out, LOL!! Thank you mizzoH for the transcript!
Great video Mizz, I love Alex talking about his work. Wish I had known of him when he was filming in Montreal, I would have gone to visit! Thank you so much for the large caps, they are amazing!
Thank you MizzoH for posting and sharing this fantastic video clip of Whiteout. I never get tired of listening to Alex and his adorable Aussie accents.
