Scott Caan Gets to Book ‘Em on “Hawaii Five-0″!

After a long wait, we finally have our Danno Williams for the Hawaii Five-0 pilot! The Hollywood Reporter writes that it is Scott Caan, oldest son of acting legend James Caan, and if you’re wondering what he has done previously, then the answer would be: quite a lot!

Scott has worked on various indie films and lists Enemy of the State (1998), Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000), Ocean’s Eleven (2001), Ocean’s Twelve (2004) and Ocean’s Thirteen (2007) among the major studio productions on his resume. More recently, he appeared on the HBO comedy Entourage as the tough-talking talent manager, Scott Lavin.

THR reports that he is guest starring on the Hawaii Five-0 pilot due to his commitment to the HBO series and that he will join Hawaii Five-0 as a regular cast member upon the show’s pickup.

Not content to just act, Scott has also tried his hand at writing and directing. This resulted in the drama Dallas 362 (2003) and the comedy The Dog Problem (2006), in which he starred alongside Giovanni Ribisi.

In Varsity Blues (1999), according to Variety, he “displayed his ability to shed his performing inhibitions by appearing in only a cowboy hat, matching the actresses who were supposed to appear in a similar fashion”.

It sounds like he will get along just fine with Alex O’Loughlin!

    I loved his character in the Ocean’s series…the kind of wit that reminds you of Josef in ML! And, I noticed that also that his birthday was one day before Alex’s and took that as a sign of good futures together on H5O…keeping fingers-crossed that we’ll see success here with this cast!!! :dance: :dance: :dance:

    Thanks Mizzo for the update! I am sure Scott will have great chemistry with Alex. I can’t wait to see them together on-screen. Did you notice he is ONE day older than Alex? I am excited!!! :yahoo: :sun:

    Thanks MizzoH. I believe that Scott Caan will be perfect as the tough and rugged Danno, opposite Alex O’Loughlin as McGarrett. Scott does look like his father James Caan. I can also see Scott looking like the original Danno. I can hardly wait to see both Scott and Alex as Danno and Steve on Hawaii Five-O. I’m certain that Scott did a screen test with Alex to be cast as Danno. Alex has an awesome chemistry with anyone he works with. The only female character who has not been cast is the Governor of Hawaii. :sailor: :good2: :smile:

    I was not familiar with his work Mizz but after reading several articles and viewing a few clips I think he and Alex will have great chemistry together. Can’t wait to see them in action! :good2:
