Hawaii Five-0 Updates

• Truly the BEST casting news ever Tweeted (by CBS) since the show aired:
  

  EXCLUSIVE CASTING ALERT! Aloha to James Caan who will join his son Scott on #H50 in February! #TCA12

  I could be completely wrong, but I’m taking this to mean that they will be filming in February, as it can take up to 5 weeks to complete an episode (shooting and post-production).

• Filming for episode 2.15 was completed just this Friday. Director Larry Teng tweeted tentatively that 2.15 will be airing late this month or early next month.
• Another 2.15 tidbit: according to an entry in IMDb, Gloria Votsis (White Collar’s Alex Hunter) has a role in 2.15 (thanks to @GloriaVotsisFan for the tweet).
• Two interesting updates via Peter Lenkov’s Twitter feed:
  • Episode 2.14 will feature a brand-new Train track called “Drive By”
  • Ed Asner will appear in episode 2.19
• In June last year Daniel attended an AXN press event in Milan; check out his interview with AXN Italy here.
• TV Shows on DVD writes about the wide release of the Hawaii Five-0 Season 1 Blu-ray starting February 7 in the US. Note that the region-free Blu-ray has been available via Amazon UK for a while now.

• Jonah Ho‘okano, who played Jake — one of the two teens who found their friend dead in her bedroom in 2.13 — spoke with Wendie Burbridge at Five-0 Redux about his Hawaii Five-0 set experience. On working with the cast:
  

  Ho‘okano said Scott Caan was a bit of a troublemaker and played pranks on a few of the extras while cameras rolled. (I know, who would have guessed?) He thought Alex O’Loughlin was very cool and professional, although Ho‘okano was really surprised by his accent and how “thick” it was. Grace was a little shy, and the only off-camera interchange they had was when she admired his shoes.

  Overall, he said his experience with the actors was positive as well as very interesting to see in person; he said he was treated really well and didn’t feel a lot of “pressure” while on set. It was amazing to listen to Ho‘okano talk about our Five-0 team as casually as if he had met them at Starbucks and stood next to them in line.

• Another episode that appears to be airing in February (2.15 again?) will have former SNL newsreader Dennis Miller as a guest star, reports TV|Line:
  

  The former Saturday Night Live newsreader, occasional thespian and current radio personalitywill play a now-retired iconic talk radio DJ who, bored with his life of leisure, starts up a self-financed pirate radio show in Hawaii.
