“Whiteout” Stills of Alex O’Loughlin
New stills from Whiteout appeared recently at Horror-Asylum.com of Alex O’Loughlin! If there was any doubt that Alex plays the killer in this Antarctica-set thriller starring Kate Beckinsale, then these latest images confirm that he is indeed the baddie (like he said all along).
Make sure that you check out the new Whiteout promo as well, it’s currently airing on television and is different from the trailer!

Impressive refelexion Michael, I can almost see what you tell us, with in such detail, I agree that Marshall’s role was miniscule, for what Alex could have done in August Rush, I’m sorry but I do not understand why JRM, is so acclaimed as actor, I do not like him, Alex would have done an unbeatable role instead. Well, focusing on Whiteout, just say thanks mizzoH once again for the photos and complet information, I hope that Alex, finally not will be the murderer, I would be surprised that Alex has give us the final key of the movie with so advance, I suspect that he also will be a “bad guy”, but not the murderer. Already we’ll see it, and the enigmatic scene of him running naked on the ice, too surely.
Ooh – that is one long comment. My keyboard just has a mind of its own!
Yes, Alex did say that he was a “baddie” in WhiteOut, but I have a feeling that he is not the killer. We know that he is the pilot, and my theory is that he is there with untoward intentions – but that we will be thrown off in the end by finding out that he is not the killer. Either way, I agree with mizzoH. Not only does Alex play the “bad guys” to the hilt, but he loves doing it. In that same interview, he also said, “but who is really bad, you know?” I love his way of thinking. Alex really shows off when he plays this kind of role, and no matter what his characters do, the viewer ends up feeling for him and understanding him – like Luke, Michael, Marcus and Vincent.
Anyway, I can hardly wait to see WhiteOut, and no matter what his character ends up doing, I sure hope Alex is in the whole movie. After seeing Moonlight, I rushed out to see August Rush while it was in the theaters – and sat there and waited through most of the film for Marshall to come back on the screen. I was mad. Alex was the only shining light in that whole movie. As we all know, he tried out for the part that JRM got, as they felt that he had a bigger name than Alex. Then they said they wrote the part of Marshall to be bigger because Alex was so great. If that was their idea of making the part bigger, I would hate to see what it was like to begin with! I went out and bought the DVD as soon as it came out though – have to keep my Alex collection up to date – and there are some great deleted scenes with Alex on there. They cut his biggest scene. Ironic that JRM is Irish and Alex did a better Irish accent than he did.
Well – there is a scene in WO where Alex runs across the ice in just a furry hat and boots – can’t wait for that – so we have to wonder; is he chasing someone or being chased? To be that desperate, sounds like maybe he is being chased to me. Well, no more guessing about 22 days from now!
THANKS FOR THE PICS, MIZZ!
I can’t wait to see Alex in the big screen, I am also afraid to be disappointed that it will be another August Rush, but hopefully we will get more if he is the killer them he probably won’t be caught until the end!
Thanks MizzoH for the article, photos and all the fascinating new information about Alex’s role in Whiteout.
Thanks mizzoH for your analysis and for the photos of Alex
why would they ruin it and tell us the Alex is the bad guy?? That is the point of trying to figure it out ourselves. I don’t understand why these studios give away so much at times!
For the record, it was Alex himself who revealed that little tidbit back in April in an interview
A possible reason for the studio to release stills of him now is because fans have been wondering quite verbally why there was no sign of him in any of the promotional activities. (As it turned out, he is actually in the first trailer, albeit unrecognizable.) Additionally, he is being promoted heavily for Three Rivers and CBS Films have started profiling him (at last) for The Back-Up Plan (the latter coincidentally after fans had been complaining that the movie appeared to be all about J.Lo ;-)), so perhaps WB thought they’d make use of that momentum.
In any case, I’m glad we have stills of him at last and they’ve chosen dynamic ones, which I think is great.
Personally, I would prefer going into the theater knowing that Alex is the bad guy, rather than going in not knowing that and maybe coming out disappointed. Alex does a fantastic baddie so I know I won’t be let down. The only reason for possible disappointment could perhaps be the amount of screen time he has.
