Hawaii Five-0 Updates
- Hawaii Five-0 returns to Fox in Spain with Season 2 on January 12 at 9:30 PM with a double episode!
- WEBSouffle’s Hawaii Five-0 Podcast is back again with a new podcast! This time, she and Wendie Burbridge discuss various aspects of episode 2.13.
- CBS recently updated the press release for 2.14 (the Shelburne episode) with the guest cast. Of course there’s no “Shelburne” listed, but the cast does include a handsome young actor called Will Carlson. Will (whose full name is William Lancaster Carlson) played Young Luke Vincent in an episode of the web series Luke 11:17 and on January 16 we’ll get to see him as Young Steve McGarrett! @LindaStein1 also posted a picture of Will on Twitter – thanks, Linda!
- The TCA Winter Press Tour is underway but CBS does not have Hawaii Five-0 on its schedule for January 11. However, Peter Lenkov is expected at the Executive and Show Runner Cocktail Reception.
- Larry Teng (1.19 and 2.06) has returned to Hawaii to direct episode 2.15, filming for which began on January 4. No press release has been issued yet for this one, but we know the plot involves Danny’s former partner from New Jersey, who comes to Hawaii seeking retribution from Danny for testifying against him and thereby assuring his long-term prison sentence. Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy) guest stars in this episode, so it’s possible that he plays the role of the partner; Larry tweeted the following:
@Theorossi Not to mention great job… Ladies and Gentlemen this boy can act his ass off. #H50
- If you’re fortunate enough to have $12,500 or more to spare, you might want to bid on an awesome Hawaii vacation that includes a Five-0 cast meet and greet and lunch with Scott Caan! The auction is listed at Charitybuzz and the current high bid is $11,500; proceeds go to Life Rolls On, one of Scott’s favorite charities. Bidding closes on January 12 at 1 PM EST.
- Peter Lenkov tweeted that he will be returning to Hawaii at the end of January to shoot 2.17 and attend Pro Bowl.

Hawaii Five-0 Articles
- TV Guide’s Mega Buzz shares a spoiler from 2.16:
Spoiler Alert! Show> - Officer Bob interviewed Yen Phan, one of the bridesmaids at Chin Ho’s and Malia’s wedding
:
Anyone got really drunk at the reception?
Steve gave a heart-warming best-man speech, all the girls swooned and Kamekona cried again. Chin and Malia’s first dance song was “Always” by Atlantic Starr. Steve asked me to dance after the bride & groom’s first dance, and I was delighted. We boogied to “Cha Cha Slide”, “Electric Slide”, and “Is This Love” by Haddaway. Danno got drunk by the end of dinner. He kept mumbling something about woman taking your daughter, house, strings you along and that marriage is doomed. Just kidding! There was no reception scene!
That’s all for now – have a wonderful week!

Well, to lighten things up a bit, I’m glad they finally took some pictures with the car.
I’ve been waiting a long time for them.
Thank you Mizz for the first fantastic and thorough weekly wrap up for 2012. I am excited and looking forward to watching the new episodes of Hawaii Five-0, as well as more adventures and publicity for Alex O’Loughlin.
Happy new year Alex, cast and crew for a successful second half of season 2 on H50.
Mizz, do you think that we have anything to worry about? He has looked a little tired from time to
time. Once again I’m turning to you for reassurance, you seem to see things ALEX better than I do.
thanks.
Health-wise, I’m sure Alex is doing fine! I think Timy probably hit the nail on the head. With the ADHD, his metabolism is already up. On top of that his overall fitness level and the physical role he has makes him a fat burning machine… but with very little fat to burn, so it’s no surprise he’s looking rather gaunt at the moment. He’s also in love, and that probably adds to the overall effect.
He’ll probably always be tired doing such a physically demanding role, spending long days on set and then going home and learning his lines for the next day. But he also obviously loves what he’s doing and where he is at at the moment. Although we may not like his ultra-lean look, he certainly doesn’t make an unhappy impression so there’s no reason for us to be unhappy either. (But yes, I do miss his buns…
)
Since I started this whole thing, I just want to make one final statement on it.
In my opinion, the reasons for his weight loss are not the issue here. I understand his high metabolism, lean diet, living on love, physical training, and long hours are most likely responsible, and that it’s not due to unhappiness or an illness. My concerns are this…he has spoken many times about pushing himself beyond his limits, but as he appears to be dangerously thin at the moment, I hope someone is watching him closely in that regard. Being underweight has the same degree of physical risk as being morbidly obese. As devoted fans of Alex, we all care a great deal about what happens to him (maybe sometimes too much)!
Hopefully when we see episodes that were filmed after the holiday break, we will see the results of great holiday cooking and desserts!
He’s going to have to keep his strength up to be able to do the show and IF there is an issue, then it will be addressed. Peter takes care of his team. We all want the best for Alex and have to trust that he knows what’s best for him.
I completely agree with you Mizz.
I’ve been concerned too. We all have heard how disciplined he is and I’m worried he’s overdisciplined and sees himself as heavier than he is. And while he looks good at any weight, people are supposed to lose fat, not muscle and he looks to me like he’s lost both. Hope he’s ok and like everyone of you, I hope someone is watching over him who cares and has his interests at heart.
I hope someone is closely watching Alex’s health. I noticed, particularly in the last episode, that his face is looking incredibly thin…sunken cheeks and eyes. Compare the 2.13 screen caps with those from last season, or even earlier this season, and you will see a noticeable difference. Since the camera adds 10 pounds, he may look even thinner in person. It is just as dangerous to be too thin as it is to be overweight, even more dangerous with his heavy work schedule and the physical demands of his role.
Please take care of our Alex!!!
I was thinking the same thing when I looked at the screencaps, and thought maybe my mind was playing tricks on me. Not that I mind the thin look, but it does concern me a lot!
I think Alex is working way too hard, maybe not realizing it himself. I hope he’s had a relaxing holiday and had enough to recover from the work schedule. Really, really hoping he’s got people around him looking out for him.
Alex is a guy who has a lot of nervous energy. He’s said it himself in the past, he’s always twitching and fidgeting because of his ADD. He’s bound to burn off some calories from that alone. Add to that the crazy busy work schedule, his love for sports and his super healthy diet and the man is going to lose a couple of pounds. And let’s not forget that he’s got a new lady in his life. When you’re on cloud nine, you think you can live on love alone.
While I do prefer him looking a little fuller in the face and would love to feed him a box of coco puffs, I’m pretty sure he’ll bounce back.
I know there are plenty of legitimate reasons for the weight loss given his diet, exercise, and work schedule. I think he’s incredibly handsome no matter what his weight is, but I’m very concerned about the severe dangers of being underweight particularly with the way he pushes himself physically. The people around him may not notice how thin he’s become because they’re around him every day. I just hope they’re keeping on medical eye on him.
