Trivia:
  • The black tie charity event at the start of the episode featured local names and businesses: University of Hawaii Football, furniture and home decor store Martin & MacArthur, Makani Kai Helicopters, Dolphin Excursions and ukelele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro. Makahani Kai Helicopters has worked with the show before and provided helicopters for various episodes, although this is the first time their real name was used on the show.
  • According to the Pacific Business News, no money changed hands for featuring local businesses, but business owners do sign a waiver before a name can be mentioned.
  • Additional businesses mentioned were North Shore seafood grill Haleiwa Joe’s (Catherine to McGarrett) and Wailana Coffee House, whose pancakes Max enjoyed with a date he met at the charity event. A scene between Lori Weston and McGarrett was also shot at Wailana for episode 2.02 in July 2011.

Memorable Quotes:
Danny:
You’ve got to one-up everybody all the time. They got a name for people like you. You know what it is?
Steve:
I do. Winners, they’re called winners.
Danny:
Incorrect. Toppers. You’re a topper, my friend.
+++
+++
Steve:
[To Danny] I’m sorry, did you just… One dollar? You outbid me by one… He outbids me by one dollar. What is this? “The Price is Right”?
+++
+++
Chin Ho:
For your information, Malia is old school. She’s perfectly happy with flowers and chocolates.
Kono:
Oh, okay, right. Because nothing says “I love you” like drugstore candy. I forgot.
+++
+++
Steve:
Since when do you speak Russian?
Danny:
Oh, I worked a Russian mob case in Brighton Beach. All I learned how to say was, “Back off, we’re cops,” and “This vodka tastes like urine.”
+++
+++
Steve:
[To Lori] “The utmost discretion.” The governor’s gonna love this one.
