Storyline:

“Lapa’au”* – FIVE-0’s investigation into the suspicious plane crash and death of a customs agent takes an unexpected turn when it is revealed that the victim was dead before takeoff. Meanwhile, Danny finds himself the proud caretaker of an orphaned dog.

* “Lapa’au” is Hawaiian for “Healing”

Trivia:

Greg Grunberg (“Heroes”) guest stars as Customs Supervisory Agent Jeff Morrison. The scene in which Morrison meets Max at the ME’s office is a nod to Grunberg’s and Oka’s roles in Heroes.
The tow-in surfing scenes were shot with well-known surfers Makua Rothman (as the surfer) and Brian Keaulana (who is also a lifeguard – as the jet skier).
The foot chase scene in Chinatown was filmed on October 3, 2011.
The Enemy Mine movie choice for the scene in Danny’s apartment was Peter Lenkov’s. “Scott and Alex had fun with it,” Joe Halpin confirmed on Twitter.
The paperback lying next to Danny’s television set is “Up Country” by Nelson DeMille.
