Storyline:

“Ua Lawe Wale”* – Lt. Gov. Denning assigns Officer Lori Weston to Five-0 to make sure McGarrett and team follow the new rules set by him and also apply her excellent profiling skills to the task force. Meanwhile, as Five-0 investigates the kidnapping of a teenage paddleboard champion, Internal Affairs Capt. Vince Fryer continues his interrogation of Kono.

*Ua Lawe Wale is Hawaiian for “Taken”

Fans get to see Alex O’Loughlin on horseback for the first time in this episode. According to showrunner Peter Lenkov, “he’s actually a pretty amazing rider.”
Actual footage from the 2011 Molokai-2-Oahu Paddleboard World Championship (M2O) was used in this episode.
The shootout scenes at the Carver compound were shot in Waialua on Oahu’s North Shore. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser ran a feature by Mike Gordon on July 28, 2011 and also posted a video on YouTube.
