Promotion by the stars of The Back-up Plan has started for the movie! Kevin Frazier tweeted just Tuesday that he was about to interview Jennifer Lopez and Alex O’Loughlin and Entertainment Tonight will air the segment on Thursday, barring breaking news. Maggie Furlong also interviewed both leads earlier today. She tweeted that J.Lo was “running late, but Alex O’Loughlin is early. So nice when actors aren’t divas,” and, “Alex O’Loughlin is awesome – I’ll have his reaction to all the Hawaii 5-0 talks in this Friday’s ep of The Show Girl!”, so keep an eye out for the video at AOL TV’s The Show Girl!
Also fresh from a Google alert is an article in USA Today, “First Look: Jennifer Lopez Starring in The Back-up Plan”. Here’s what Alex had to share about making the movie:
“The question is, are you going to stick around and look after another man’s kid?” O’Loughlin says. “The message in the film is don’t let the pressures of society and all of the old things you have been told growing up get in your way.”
O’Loughlin, who starred in the 2007 film August Rush, says the chance to work with Lopez was a big enticement for his first foray into the romantic-comedy genre. “Her attachment to the film minted a bunch of different things,” he says. “I knew she had a big fan base and a bunch of different people would see the film.”
As for working with Lopez, O’Loughlin went into filming with no expectations. “She’s a big star, so you never know what to expect,” O’Loughlin says. “But we had a great time. … It was a ball on the set. She’s a great person and very professional. She’s very good at what she does.”
Expect the next few months to be activity-laden with The Back-up Plan‘s release date nearing, and of course also with Alex’s Hawaii Five-0 project now confirmed.

Thanks mizzoH, my niece was in San Francisco today and she called to tell me that they had posters from the BUP all over the city, even in the BART (subway), it’s great to see they are heavily promoting the movie, plus Alex’s face is everywhere!! LOL
