In an awards ceremony hosted last night by comedian Jeff Ross at the Castaway in Burbank, California it was revealed that Moonlight, the 2007-2008 vampire series starring Alex O’Loughlin, is the winner of a Saturn Award in the category “Best Television Series Release on DVD”. The Saturn Award is presented annually in various categories by The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films to honor and recognize genre filmmaking.
Moonlight was one of seven nominations and beat other popular releases Lost, The Tudors, Doctor Who, Heroes, Reaper and Torchwood.
The academy announced the nominations for the 35th Annual Saturn Awards in March 2009 and opened their membership to the public in April 2009. Undoubtedly inviting the public to vote has helped Moonlight gain the recognition it deserves in its category.
Congratulations to Alex O’Loughlin, Sophia Myles, Jason Dohring and the rest of the cast for achieving this honor!

Thank you MizzoH. This is excellent news. Moonlight deserves this award. Congratulations to Alex O’Loughlin, Sophia Myles, Jason Dohring and Shannyn Sossamon, and the rest of the supporting cast.
Yes!! I sooooo wished CBS had continued this series. It leaves us to wonder, what would the ADA have done with that list. Would Mick N Beth stayed together and made the happy little family white picket fenced-house with 2.5 children and a dog.. Oh never mind the dogs…. we vampires don’t like animals
