Australian celebrity and fashion photographer Darren Tieste needed two years to shoot the gorgeous photos required for The Beauty Book for Brain Cancer, a tribute to a close friend who succumbed to that debilitating disease in 2008. To create what he considers the proudest achievement of his long career, Tieste teamed up with “Pantera” Sarah Uphoff, who lost her mother earlier this year, also to brain cancer.
When asked by The Morning Show in Australia what it took to convince over 200 international celebrities – including Alex O’Loughlin – to donate their time to the project, Tieste answered, “A lot of drive, a lot of determination, a lot of tenacity and a lot of begging, a lot of stalking.”
The hard work and perseverance has paid off and the 312-page collectable hardcover book is now available in stores worldwide, and it can be ordered online from http://thebeautybook.org. The retail price is USD 39.99 and sales proceeds will go to non-profit charities SNOG (Sydney Neurology Oncology Group) and HEADRUSH Wisconsin.
