Hawaii News Now reported last night that Hawaii Five-0 will be erecting its studio and making its home in a warehouse that used to be part of the Honolulu Advertiser‘s circulation/press headquarters. Michael Crowe, the H50 construction manager, says that the facilities will include a mini sound stage and Det. Danny Williams’s apartment. The site is located behind the News Building at the corner of Kapiolani Boulevard and South Street and according to Wayne Harada, the high-rise condo at Queen and South Streets offers a good view.
The news station also announced that Hawaii Five-0 will premiere on Monday, September 20th. The early debut date makes this a complete turnaround from last year’s situation with Three Rivers, undoubtedly in more ways than one. However, the lucky folks in Hawaii will get to see the pilot a week sooner as it will be shown at Sunset on the Beach on Monday, September 13th! There’s been no formal word from CBS yet on the premiere date.
Filming for the series commences on July 15th and according to Crowe, the production expects to be shooting through the third week in November. In keeping with industry standards, CBS appears to have ordered an initial 13 episodes, including the pilot. “We’re going to do twelve episodes and see what the network wants to do after that,” says Crowe.
Somehow, I don’t think we will have to worry about an untimely cancellation.
Hawaii Five-0 will be “showcasing Hawaii as it is now, present day. Let the people of the world see how beautiful it is,” adds Crowe. Shooting locations will include Waikiki, Kapiolani Park and downtown Honolulu. There is also talk of creating a police station set in the Post Office building.

Great news!!! We still don’t know anything about H5O in LAtinamerica. I hope I won’t be looking frantically for each episode on the Internet every Tuesday!!
Thank you Mizz for this wonderful news. I was hoping that Hawaii Five-O would premiere on September 20, 2010. I am so happy and excited to watch Alex O’Loughlin weekly on the new Hawaii Five-O in September. I am going to love it.
