Alex O’Loughlin has dedicated a Donate Life float Family Circle Rose in memory of Fernando Fernandez Alejandre. Inspired by Three Rivers, Fernando’s family consented to his eye donation.
Alex’s personal dedication will be placed in the 2010 Donate Life float’s Family Circle Garden and reads:
In memory of Fernando Fernandez Alejandre. Fernando’s legacy lives on through his family, friends and those whose sight he restored through cornea donation. I will always be inspired by Fernando’s generosity. Very sincerely, Alex O’Loughlin

The Donate Life Family Circle Rose Dedication Program offers donor families, transplant recipients and candidates, hospitals, transplant centers and organizations nationwide the opportunity to dedicate roses placed on the Donate Life float in the Rose Parade, which is watched by tens of millions of people in the U.S. and worldwide on New Year’s Day. Each dedicated rose is placed in a vial that carries a unique, personal message of love, hope and remembrance, and honors donors, recipients and others touched by organ and tissue donation. These dedicated roses create a living memorial and live in a featured design element on the Donate Life float each year, the Family Circle Garden.

Just one of the many reasons I am impressed by this gorgeous young man. I pray for his success each and every day because he deserves the best because he is the best.
Alex has said that he wonders why he is loved and respected…this is a perfect example of why. He is a man of great empathy and understanding, committed to supporting others and giving of his time.
We could easily make a long list of reasons why, and none would be about his looks. Certainly, he’s a talented actor, but more importantly, Alex is a remarkable human being.
